🍷 Tornatore Etna Rosso DOC is a Sicilian red from the northern slope of Mount Etna, made in Castiglione di Sicilia by the Tornatore family, who have farmed here since 1865. It is made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, the historic grapes of the volcano: an elegant red with a savoury edge and lovely freshness.
🌿 What makes this Etna Rosso different
- 🌋 Vineyards on the northern slope of Etna, on volcanic soils with wide day-night temperature swings
- 🍇 Nerello Mascalese for elegance and finesse, Nerello Cappuccio for body and structure
- 🏡 Family estate: the Tornatore family has farmed in Castiglione di Sicilia since 1865
- 🪵 Aged in oak barrels
- ✅ Tasted and selected by us before joining our range
On the nose, small red fruits, morello and black cherry with a spicy touch; on the palate it is savoury and surprisingly full, with balanced tannins and a long finish. Why an Etna red in a Tuscan salumeria? Because its freshness and savoury character clean the palate after every slice of salami or aged pecorino.
